Financial Education Plan

The Financial Education PlanOpens in new window is an initiative of the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the Banco de España and the Ministry of the Economy, Trade and Business. It aims to improve citizens’ financial literacy, providing them with the basic knowledge and the tools they need to manage their finances responsibly and in an informed manner.

School programme

With a view to providing financial education at an early age, the CNMV and the Banco de España signed an agreement with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training that includes a School Financial Education ProgrammeOpens in new window, aimed at introducing basic financial content into the classroom, which has been running since 2010.

Bank Customer Portal

Aimed at bank customers (in other words, almost all of the adult population), but also at young people and teenagers who have accounts and cards, pay by mobile phone and shop online at an ever younger age.

The Bank Customer PortalOpens in new window provides information and tools to allow everyone to interact confidently with financial institutions, to assess and compare the different banking products and services offered and to know their rights and obligations.

Through clear and direct language and a user-friendly interface, it helps bank customers make the right decisions for their needs.
