Financial Education Plan

The Financial Education PlanOpens in new window is an initiative of the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the Banco de España and the Ministry of the Economic Affairs, Trade and Enterprise. It aims to improve citizens’ financial literacy, by providing them with the basic knowledge and the tools they need to manage their finances in a responsible and informed manner.

School programme

With a view to providing financial education at an early age, the CNMV and the Banco de España signed an agreement with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training that includes a School Financial Education ProgrammeOpens in new window, aimed at introducing basic financial content into the classroom, which has been running since 2010.

Bank Customer Portal

The Portal is aimed at bank customers, i.e. almost all the adult population, but also at young people who, at increasingly younger ages, have accounts and cards, pay by phone and shop online.

The Bank Customer PortalOpens in new window provides information and tools to enable everyone to interact confidently with financial institutions, to assess and compare the different banking products and services on offer and to know their rights and obligations.

Through clear and direct language and a user-friendly interface, it helps bank customers make the right decisions for their needs.
