The Banco de España organizes the workshops “hazQTRente: conoce tus finanzas, decide tu futuro” so that your secondary school, Baccalaureate, and intermediate vocational training students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of personal finance through a dynamic and motivating approach.

Format

The “hazQTRente: conoce tus finanzas, decide tu futuro” workshops are interactive and aim to encourage active student participation.

In addition to presenting theoretical concepts, these workshops include gamified activities, a hands-on session on euro banknotes and their security features, and a quiz to test what has been learned (¹).

Contents

The “hazQTRente: conoce tus finanzas, decide tu futuro” workshops cover (¹), among other topics:

• Financial planning and saving: students will become aware of the importance of organizing their finances and saving wisely.
• Responsible consumption: they will learn how to make informed purchasing decisions and become aware of the biases that affect us.
• Debt management: even if they have not yet faced major debt decisions, they will in the future, and it’s important they understand the factors to consider.
• Fraud prevention: they will see examples of common scams and learn the basic rule of not sharing personal information.
• Crypto-assets and their associated risks.
• Euro banknotes: they will learn about their features and main security measures, as well as tips for identifying counterfeits.

Practical information

• The workshops “hazQTRente:conoce tus finanzas, decide tu futuro” are free and require prior registration. The school year session calendar opens in September each year.
• This activity is not recommended for individuals under 14 years of age.
• Workshops are held in person at the Banco de España locations or via videoconference.
• The number of participants may vary depending on the location.
• Duration ranges from 2 to 3 hours depending on the location (¹).
• For a safe and organized visit, please remember:
  • All attendees must show ID or passport and pass security checks to enter the building.
  • It is mandatory to wear the access badge provided by the Banco de España security staff visibly at all times.
  • Groups must always be accompanied by the Banco de España staff. It is not permitted to separate from the group.
  • Taking photos or videos inside the building is not allowed.
  • In case of emergency or evacuation, follow the instructions of the Banco de España security staff.
