Management assignment is a legal instrument through which administrative bodies or Public Law Entities may entrust other bodies or Public Law Entities of the same or a different Administration, with the performance of activities of a material or technical nature, for reasons of efficiency or when they do not possess the appropriate technical means to perform such tasks themselves, regulations for which are found in Article 11 of Law 40/2015 of 1 October, on the Legal Regime of the Public Sector.

The Concession Contracts regulated in Law 9/2017 of 8 November, on public sector contracts, transposing into Spanish law the Directives of the European Parliament and of the Council 2014/23/EU and 2014/24/EU of 26 February 2014, in Article 32 and in supplementary provision 24, are the formula through which the contracting authorities may entrust the execution of the services inherent in contracts for works, supplies, services, works concessions and service concessions to another legal entity, whether under public or private law, provided that the latter has legal status as an economic operator at the service of the Public Administration.
