The Strategic Plan 2024 
(1 MB) establishes, among its initiatives, the creation of an annual programme for evaluation of the actions of the Banco de España, with the aim of promoting its modernisation, incorporating different criteria to increase the efficiency of its actions and establishing a process of continuous improvement of the institution.

Since 2008, the Internal Audit Department has carried out an external quality assessment every five years, in accordance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
