On 21 and 22 April 2005, Banco de España organized this seminar in Madrid, as part of cooperation between supervisors in the implementation of the new capital framework, and directed at those most responsible for the supervision and the implementation of Basel II in the countries of Latin America.
The seminar was attended by representatives from 15 countries, and the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (ASBA), the Committee of Banking Supervisors of Basel and the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) and its main objectives were to raise awareness Spanish supervisor experience in the field and facilitate the exchange of views on the best way to tackle the transition to Basel II.
