T2 is the real-time gross settlement system owned and operated by the central banks of the Eurosystem. Participants in this service can send and receive cash transfers in euros and other currencies within T2, where they are processed and settled in central bank money, i.e., money deposited in an account with a central bank.
In T2, payments related to the Eurosystem's monetary policy operations, as well as interbank and commercial transactions, are settled.
