Library

The Library has over 365,000 printed volumes, specialising in economics. It also offers access to numerous electronic journals and e-books, databases, specialised information portals, etc.

Although Banco de España staff are the main users of the Library, it is open to any individuals or institutions with an interest in its collections and services.

The Special Value Collection, comprising more than 17,000 items from the 15th-19th century, is an important part of the collection and of great interest for the study of economic history and law in Spain.

On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Joaquín Ibarra’s birth, the Banco de España Library is organizing the exhibition 300 Years of Joaquín Ibarra: The Legacy of an Enlightened Printer, featuring a selection of works by the Aragonese printer. The exhibition will be open to the public during October 2025 and January 2026, during the Library’s regular opening hours. To download the exhibition brochure, click hereOpens in new window.
