The Banco de España is issuing an alert concerning certain banking services that are being offered via the internet by institutions that say they are authorised to carry out banking activities in Spain.
These institutions normally present themselves with incomplete or non-existent addresses and offer non-existent mobile or landline numbers or numbers with prefixes that are not Spanish.
The Banco de España wishes to issue a reminder that to carry out activities legally reserved for credit institutions in Spanish territory requires the corresponding authorisation and registration in the Banco de España's Registry of Institutions.
