Updates for Researchers: The ECB Launches a Pilot Project to Facilitate Researchers' Access to Confidential Statistical Data

On March 13th, the European Central Bank (ECB) launched a pilot project to facilitate researchers' access to data collected from the financial sector. The aim of this initiative is to promote independent research, enhance comparative economic analysis between countries, and foster a deeper understanding of financial dynamics within the euro area.

In this initial phase of the project, accepted researchers will have access to anonymized data on the balance sheets and interest rates offered by credit institutions in the euro area.
