The German Federal Employment Agency (BA) opened the Research Data Center at its Institute for Employment Research (IAB) with the aim of giving external researchers access to German social security and employment microdata for non-commercial empirical research.
The Banco de España, through BELab, was selected by the BA as the point of access in Spain to their microdata network. Qualified researchers may thus access the data in a controlled environment.

Researchers may apply for access to the
Research Data Center of the IAB. After permission is granted, researchers must contact the Banco de España to gain access to the BELab safe room located on their premises.
