Central Balance Sheet Data Office

Access to international databases

The Central Balance Sheet Data Office works in partnership with the other European central balance sheet data offices, to create and maintain two activity sector information databases, available to the general public and to reporting corporations in particular, although under different conditions.

The RSE database

The database of Sector Ratios of European Non-financial Companies (RSE) provides information for comparative analysis of individual companies with aggregates of non-financial companies and enables the company to be positioned itself according to its activity sector and size.

This database is the result of collaboration between the Banco de España, Spanish Registries and the European Committee of Central Balance-Sheet Data Offices.

The BACH database

The BACH (Bank for the Accounts of Companies Harmonised) project compiles annual time series (balance sheets, income statements and significant ratio) of non-financial companies from the European Union (EU) -Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Czech republic and Slovakia-.

Data is provided as percentages and absolute values (total assets, turnover, added value and number of employees) and statistical distribution of structures and ratios by quartiles. Available from 2000 for cross referencing 104 activity sectors and five size categories, defined in terms of net turnover.

The coverage and representativeness of the national samples vary.

Database on periods of collection and payment in trade credits

This database contains indicators of days sales outstanding (DSO) and days payable outstanding (DPO), used as proxies for customer and supplier payment periods, based on accounting information drawn from financial statements of firms from Belgium, France, Germany Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Turkey. Breakdown by Country, Sector, Size and Year. Data is provided as weighted mean and statistical distributions. Available from 2000.

Database on variables from European non-financial listed groups

This database provides statistical information based on the data available in the ERICA database. These statistics have been compiled, using the ERICA 2016 database, covering more than 1000 European listed groups over the 2005-2016 period. For a selection of nearly 50 variables, averages, aggregate value for each variable, quartiles, minimum and maximum values are published, by year, by sector of activity, by country and/or by size class. Data are presented in thousands of euros.
