Definition
"Other resident sectors" is a residual institutional grouping that includes those sectors resident in the economy that are neither “General Government" nor “monetary financial institutions" (in the case of the sectorisation scheme used for monetary analysis) or part of the “credit system" (in the case of the sectorisation scheme used in supervisory statements)

In the sectorisation scheme for monetary analysis, other resident sectors are comprised of —with the corresponding economic sector codes in parentheses according to ESA 2010—:
- Non-monetary financial institutions (S.123 + S.124)
- Insurance companies and pension funds (S.125)
- Non-financial corporations (S.11)
- Households and non-profit institutions serving households (S.14 + S.15)
