  • Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP)

    The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) is a statistical indicator of consumer prices in the euro area countries, compiled using the same methodological criteria throughout the area, published by Eurostat, and used by the Governing Council of the European Central Bank to assess price stability.

  • Hourly labor cost index

    Measure of labor costs, including gross wages and salaries (in cash and in kind, including variable wage components) and other labor costs (employer social contributions plus direct social benefits provided by the company without involving Social Security or other insurers) per hour actually worked (including overtime).

  • Households

    The household institutional sector is made up of individuals and groups of individuals or groups of individuals as consumers and as entrepreneurs. It includes individuals directly producing market goods and financial and non-financial services, including for own use, provided that the production of goods and services is not by separate entities treated as quasi-corporations (such as sole proprietors and partnerships without legal status).
