    - Details with the United States as counterpart country

    The breakdown of the current and capital account with the United States, on an annual basis, has been included in table 17.3aOpens in new window, which previously only detailed up to North and Central America. Additionally, these same series have been published in BIESTOpens in new window on a quarterly basis.

    This new addition completes the set of data with the United States as a counterpart that was already available for foreign statistics, including not only the details of the current and capital account but also portfolio investments abroad (tables 17.23aOpens in new window and 17.23bOpens in new window, total and broken down by financial instrument, respectively). Direct investments abroad and in Spain when considering the ultimate country instead of the immediate one, can be found in (tables 17.44aOpens in new window and 17.45Opens in new window, for positions and transactions, respectively). Direct investments from abroad in Spain with the United States, when considering the ultimate investor country instead of the immediate one, can be found in table 17.44bOpens in new window.

    - Workers’ remittances data

    Quarterly series of workers’ remittances total credits and debits have been added to BIESTOpens in new window.

    - Separation of financial instruments: equity and investment funds

    Series of portfolio investment with the distinction between equity instruments and investment fund shares, which were previously published together, have been added to BIESTOpens in new window.
