Modification of the Industrial Business Survey (ECI) and the Construction Sector Business Survey (ECC)

Within the framework of the revisión of statistical series carried out by the Ministerio de Industria y Turismo, and the transition from the BADASE system to a new dissemination environment, changes are introduced in the information provided to users with the aim of improving its quality, consistency and comparability:

• In the Industrial Business Survey (ECI), only seasonally adjusted series will be disseminated; the publication of the original series is discontinued.
• In the Construction Sector Business Survey (ECC), sectoral breakdowns are removed due to their high volatility, and only aggregate data are published.
• The variables «Production expectations» and «Order book expectations» are removed from the ECC questionnaire, as they are not harmonised with the reference European programme.

These changes are reflected in the following tables:

• In «Industrial and Construction Business Survey. Main results» (table 23.16), information on the original ECI series is no longer provided by information from the ECC (previously included in Table 23.18), although with different content due to the discontinuity of previously published series. The stock level is also included, an indicator that forms part of the calculation of the industrial climate.
• In «Industrial Business Surveys. Breakdown by sectors (CNAE-2009)» (table 23.17), seasonally adjusted series are presented instead of the original ones.
