The Library has over 365,000 printed volumes, specialising in economics. It also offers access to numerous electronic journals and e-books, databases, specialised information portals, etc.
Although Banco de España staff are the main users of the Library, it is open to any individuals or institutions with an interest in its collections and services.
The Special Value Collection, comprising more than 17,000 items from the 15th-19th century, is an important part of the collection and of great interest for the study of economic history and law in Spain.
“A journey through the bibliographic heritage of the Bank of Spain.” To mark Open Government Week, the Library is exhibiting some of the most representative works from the Special Value Collection. The exhibition can be visited during the reading room's opening hours until May 29.
For the same reason, the Zaragoza Branch office is hosting the exhibition “300 years of Joaquín Ibarra: the legacy of an enlightened printer” until May 29.
