This publication reports on the Banco de España’s supervisory activities and seeks to explain the actions undertaken.
It describes in detail the supervisory and oversight functions of the Banco de España, how they are organised within the Bank and how they were performed during the year. It also describes how the sanctioning power was exercised, the Banco de España circulars relating to supervision and the Bank’s participation in international banking regulation and supervision fora.
