The Banco de España presents its Applied Technology Laboratory and Experimentation Department (DELTA) in Barcelona
Today in Barcelona the Governor of the Banco de España, José Luis Escrivá, presented the Bank’s new Applied Technology Laboratory and Experimentation Department (DELTA), accompanied by Salvador Illa, President of the Catalan regional government, and Jaume Collboni, Mayor of Barcelona.
A roundtable discussion followed, focusing on the challenges and opportunities that new technologies offer within the institutional sphere. Participants included Núria Montserrat, Minister for Research and Universities of the Catalan regional government; Cristian Cantón, Associate Director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center; and Lluís Torner, professor at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
Two agreements between the Banco de España and the Catalan regional government were announced during the event:
- An agreement to sell part of the building that houses the Bank’s Barcelona branch office to the Catalan regional government.
- An agreement to develop joint financial education projects.
