On the occasion of Open Government Week 2026, the Banco de España is taking part in this transparency initiative aimed at bringing the institution closer to the public. Through the Central Balance Sheet Data Office of the Statistics Department, it will be holding an outreach session addressed to the academic community, professionals, and the general public.
Within this framework, we are pleased to invite you to the hybrid session:
“Learn More About Spanish Companies (Data from the Banco de España’s Central Balance Sheet)”
Date: 18 May 2026
Time: 12:00–13:00
Attendance:

During the session, we will show how the data collected by the Banco de España through the Central Balance Sheet Data Office enable a better understanding of the activity and economic situation of Spanish companies.
In particular, we will present examples of how these public data and tools make it possible to:
- Analyse the activity of productive sectors.
- Compare territories, including autonomous communities and provinces, and in some cases municipalities.
- Place Spanish companies in a European context, using information that is comparable with other countries.
This session represents an opportunity to engage with public statistics, gain a deeper understanding of the business fabric around us, and learn about the information products that the Central Balance Sheet makes available to researchers, professionals, and the general public.
