The new web service (API) allows the integration of data from the statistics published by the Banco de España directly into users' programs.
This way, statistical information can be automatically exploited. This represents a significant improvement for users who work regularly and extensively with this data.
This service is based on requests made through URLs that the user generates from the names of the series they are interested in. The result is offered in JSON format, a simple format that ensures reliable data reading and easy integration into the user's programs or applications.
On the descriptive page of the Statistics web service
, the available requests are detailed, as well as the parameters that can be used in each request. Additionally, examples are shown on how to obtain the latest data or all data for a specific period for one or more series, and the user is offered the possibility to automatically obtain a request example based on the series code (section "Series Search").
This type of request allows for the automation of data downloads, access only to the required information, and therefore improves process efficiency.
The series codes for making requests can be obtained through the BIEST application or from CSV or Excel files associated with the statistical tables that the Banco de España publishes in PDF format in its Statistics section.
