Services to the general public
The Banco de España provides a variety of services to the public, including exchanging euro banknotes – in some cases even damaged ones – and coins, withdrawing counterfeit banknotes and coins, and allowing you to subscribe for government bonds, submit requests for Central Credit Register (CCR) information, make complaints and enquiries about transparency regulations and good banking practices to the Institutions’ Conduct Department, register documents and make payments to public institutions with an account open at the Banco de España.
You can find more services in our For the public
section
Guided tours
Between October and June, the Banco de España provides free, guided tours of its Madrid headquarters and its branch offices.
Tours of the Madrid headquarters are focused on our heritage, while those provided at the branch offices have a more educational purpose. Both can be arranged through the section provided on the Bank’s website
