The Law of Autonomy of the Banco de España
, the main piece of legislation that governs the institution's activities, states that one of the Bank’s main functions is to advise the Government and prepare any reports and studies deemed necessary.
Consequently, the Banco de España draws up various regular public reports in which it analyses economic and financial developments in the Spanish economy, the euro area as a whole and the rest of the world.
The publications analysing the Spanish economy include the Annual Report
, which outlines developments in the economy in the previous year and the main structural challenges it faces, and the Macroeconomic projections and quarterly report on the Spanish economy
, which cover recent developments in the economy and the outlook for growth, inflation, unemployment and the budget deficit.
