Definition
The Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS) was established in 1996 to promote that users in general, and financial market participants in particular, have adequate information to assess the economic situation of different countries. Countries adhered to the SDDS commit to observing the prescribed requirements for data publication. The SDDS+ category, to which Spain is adhered, is the most demanding standard.
Further information
Countries that subscribe to the SDDS agree to follow good practices in four areas:
- coverage, periodicity, and timelines
- public access to the data
- data integrity
- data quality
Spain is part of the SDDS Plus, which includes additional requirements
