Analysis and combination of pseudonnymized data

Purpose

  • Conduct reports or scientific and/or historical research studies necessary for the exercise of the powers legally attributed to the Banco de España, based on the analysis and combination of pseudonymized collections of data which are available in a secure environment (data lake).

Legal basis

Performance of a task carried out in the public interest vested in the Banco de España pursuant to:

  • Article 7.5 of the Law 13/1994, of 1 June, of Banco de España Autonomy

Categoría de interesados

  • Data subjects whose personal data must be analyzed for the preparation of reports or scientific and/or historical research studies on matters assigned to Banco de España.

Categories of personal data

  • Identification data: Pseudonymized identifier of the data subjects.
  • Contact data: Country, province, postal code.
  • Economic and financial data: Financial data related to the holding of deposits, direct accounts, and credit risks.
  • Personal characteristics data: Age ranges aggregated in five-year intervals.
  • Vulnerable data subjects: Data concerning individuals under 14 years of age.
  • Other: Other aggregated or pseudonymized data categories that may be necessary to achieve the purpose of this processing.

Retention period

Data shall be retained for the time necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected and to allocate any liability arising from said purpose and from the processing of the data.

Security measures

In accordance with the First Additional Provision of the Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights, the security measures implemented at Banco de España correspond to those provided for in the National Security Scheme.
