Independent Evaluation Office
The Independent Evaluations Office (OIE by its Spanish acronym) conducts objective and independent evaluations about the Banco de España’s key activities and functions. According to its terms of reference, the OIE acts with complete autonomy from the Bank's management and is directly accountable to the Governing Council.
Its purpose is to support the Governing Council in fulfilling its responsibility for institutional governance and oversight of the Bank’s functioning, to foster a learning culture within the Bank and to strengthen the institution’s external credibility.
