The BELab research community can now access a new dataset on payment transactions carried out through Bizum. This new information expands the possibilities for research and analysis on payment methods.
The dataset includes, on the one hand, quarterly data on the value and number of e-commerce transactions made via Bizum, aggregated by merchant activity sector according to the MCC (Merchant Category Code). On the other hand, it incorporates monthly data by type of transaction — peer-to-peer, e-commerce, donations, etc— classified by transaction amount ranges.
The availability of this information is made possible through the agreement
signed between the Banco de España and Bizum, which will allow these data to be made available to the research community for analytical and research purposes.
