The Banco de España and the Banco de Portugal hold a bilateral meeting to strengthen their collaboration

The Banco de España and the Banco de Portugal held a bilateral meeting in the Banco de España headquarters in Madrid with the aim of strengthening relations between both institutions, addressing issues of mutual interest and forging agreements and alliances in different areas. The delegations were led by Governors José Luis Escrivá and Mario Centeno, and also included Deputy Governors Soledad Núñez and Clara Raposo.
Throughout the day, members of both institutions held various meetings on economics, financial stability, conduct supervision, statistics, banking supervision, information technology, and environmental, social and governance goals to explore channels for collaboration.
In addition to the Governor and the Deputy Governor, the participants from the Banco de Portugal were Rui Pinto and Professor Francisca Guedes de Oliveira (both Directors of the institution), and Álvaro Novo, Head of the Governor’s Office. From the Banco de España, the participants were Directors General Ángel Gavilán (Economics), Daniel Pérez Cid (Financial Stability, Regulation and Resolution), Mercedes Olano (Banking Supervision), Mayte Ledo (Strategy, People and Data) and Alberto Ríos (Financial Conduct and Banknotes).
