Revision of post- October 2019 data on banknotes distributed and withdrawn by the Banco de España and on coins in circulation

Owing to a data revision by the source, the data for banknotes and coins allocated to the Banco de España in the statistics of the statistics of the European System of Central Banks have been changed. Most of the changes are minor and affect certain periods between October 2019 and February 2025.

The following tables have been revised:

• “Euro banknote liabilities allocated to the Banco de España, euro banknotes distributed less banknotes withdrawn and unreturned peseta banknotes” (Table 7.16);
• “Banknotes distributed by the Banco de España in the period. Breakdown of euro banknotes by denomination“ (Table 7.17);
• “Banknotes withdrawn by the Banco de España in the period. Breakdown of euro banknotes by denomination“ (Table 7.18);
• “Euro coins placed in circulation by the Banco de España and unreturned peseta coins. Breakdown of euro coins by denomination“ (Table 7.19).
