Modification of the table of fees and commissions of deposit-taking institutions

The table entitled “Fees and commissions. Deposit-taking institutions” (Table 4.40
) has been modified. This table provides a breakdown of fees and commissions, by type, that is consistent with the individual confidential returns on business in Spain submitted by credit institutions and specialised lending institutions (SLIs) for supervisory purposes. The reporting of such information complies with the criteria and rules laid down in Banco de España Circular 4/2017 of 27 November to credit institutions on public and confidential financial information rules and formats (Official State Gazette of 6 December 2017).
The data from the new series are provided from March 2021 and will be updated on a quarterly basis, coinciding with the release of the Credit institutions and SLI statistics.
The new table model replaces the previous one (“Non-interest income. Deposit-taking institutions”) which, in addition to providing a less granular breakdown of fees and commissions, presented data on net profit and other net operating income. These series will no longer be published, and the data available will be moved to “Historical statistics for researchers”.
