Balance of Payments and International Investment Position

With the publication of the annual tables on direct investment according to the directional principle (Tables 17.42 to 17.45) the inclusion in Chapter 17 of the Statistical Bulletin of the information contained in the annual publication “Balance of Payments and International Investment Position”, which has been discontinued in 2016, is now complete. As announced in the press release of 26 May and in the notes on changes to Chapter 17 of the Statistical Bulletin in June, this information was included in several stages with a view to unifying the access routes to balance of payments and international investment position statistics compiled by the Banco de España, so as to make all the data available in Chapter 17. Thus, quarterly data were added to the chapter in June and new annual tables were added in October, although in some cases only the design of the tables, pending compilation of the data up to 11 November, when the project was completed.
