Incorporation of CNAE 2025 into the Economically Active Population Survey

Starting with the data corresponding to the first quarter of 2026, the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE) will simultaneously provide Economically Active Population Survey (EAPS) information according to the 2009 National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE 2009) and the new 2025 National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE 2025).
As a result of this change, the tables “Employment by branch of activity” (table 24.4
) and “Wage-earners by branch of activity” (table 24.6) are being updated to reflect the sections defined in CNAE 2025, in order to maintain consistency with the new classification used by the INE.
