Would you like to boost your students’ financial literacy and help them to learn to effectively manage their finances?
The Banco de España organises workshops under the title "hazQTRente: conoce tus finanzas, decide tu futuro” (“understand your finances, decide your future”) so that your students – whether secondary, upper secondary or in intermediate vocational training – have the chance to immerse themselves in the world of personal finance in a dynamic and engaging way.
Format
The “hazQTRente” workshops aim to encourage students to develop a critical and reflective attitude toward personal finance management.
These workshops are offered in two formats:
- In-person: these workshops are interactive and promote active student participation. In addition to presenting theoretical concepts, the programme includes game-based activities, a practical workshop on euro banknotes and their security features and a competition to see what the students have learned.(1)
- Videoconference: a condensed version is offered, focusing on key concepts related to personal finance and fraud prevention.
To ensure an inclusive, enriching, and accessible experience for everyone, we also offer a specially adapted version of the “hazQTRente” workshops for people with disabilities or functional diversity.
Content
The workshops address a range of topics (1), including:
- Financial planning and saving: your students will get to grips with the importance of organising their finances and smart saving.
- Responsible consumption: they will learn how to make informed purchasing decisions and be aware of our biases.
- Borrowing: although they may not yet have faced crucial debt decisions, they will in the future and it is vital they consider the factors involved.
- Fraud prevention: they will look at some examples of fraud they might encounter and learn the basic rule of not sharing personal information.
- Crypto-assets and their associated risks.
- Euro banknotes: they will learn about their features and main security measures, along with tips on identifying counterfeits.
