Associate Directorate General International Affairs

The Associate Directorate General International Affairs has the following functions:

• To monitor economic and financial performance in the external environment of the euro area and the global economy and to conduct analysis and research projects in both fields.
• To develop the Banco de España's international relations in the external environment of the euro area and with the main organisations, institutions and multilateral economic forums, including monitoring and analysis activities.
• To advise the Governing and Management Bodies on preparing positions within their scope of action, concerning the economy, finance and international relations.
• To co-ordinate the technical support provided by the Banco de España to other national central banks, financial supervisors and other similar public agencies in both a bilateral way and through multilateral economic organisations and institutions.
• To study and monitor the political and economic development and the solvency of the relevant countries with respect to the financial risk assumed by Spanish institutions, in keeping with its regulatory function concerning country-risk provisions.
