International technical co-operation is a set of strategies, policies and actions that make it possible to transfer knowledge from Banco de España to other central banks, supervisory bodies, regulators and international institutions.
It is a key instrument in international political relations, it contributes to creating networks for collaboration and exchanging mutually enriching knowledge and it brings benefits to participants at all levels of an organisation. Furthermore, it allows for increasing the relevance and international projection of the Bank and provides opportunities to enhance its international presence, contributing to achieving its basic objectives in terms of monetary and financial stability and in its banking supervision functions.
International technical co-operation actions are carried out in different formats:
The final beneficiaries of these actions can be institutions in countries with different levels of development and from viverse geographical areas and, in the case of the activities carried out in the Eurosystem framework, countries that are candidates or potential candidates to enter the European Union.
These activities are carried out exclusively with central banks, supervisory bodies and other public institutions. Participation in these activities requires previous invitation by Banco de España.
