Spain in the IMF and the World Bank: 50 Years of Relations

On 15 December 2008, the international conference "Spain in the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank: Fifty Years of Relations" took place at the Bank of Spain headquarters in Madrid as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of Spain's presence in the two institutions.
During the conference, organised jointly by the Spanish Ministry of Finance and the Treasury and the Bank of Spain, the history of Spain's 50 years in the IMF were reviewed, and a discussion was held on the role of the Fund and the World Bank in the new international economic scenario.
