The Central Balance Sheet Data Office works in partnership with the other European central balance sheet data offices, to create and maintain two activity sector information databases, available to the general public and to reporting corporations in particular, although under different conditions.
The database of Sector Ratios of European Non-financial Companies (RSE) provides information for comparative analysis of individual companies with aggregates of non-financial companies and enables the company to be positioned itself according to its activity sector and size.
This database is the result of collaboration between the Banco de España, Spanish Registries and the European Committee of Central Balance-Sheet Data Offices.
The BACH (Bank for the Accounts of Companies Harmonised) project compiles annual time series (balance sheets and income statements) of non-financial companies from the European Union (EU) -Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Netherlands, Italy, Poland and Portugal-.
Data is provided as percentages and absolute values (total assets, turnover, added value and number of employees) and this is available from 1997 for cross referencing 23 activity sectors and three size categories, defined in terms of turnover.
The coverage and representativeness of the national samples vary.
