The Banco de España and the CNMV jointly organised a workshop on SME finance on 16 February 2012 at the headquarters of the Banco de España in Madrid. The main aim of the workshop was to discuss the factors constraining access by small and medium-sized companies to financing, some of the future challenges in this area and potential measures to alleviate the problems identified. Participants included specialists from academia, international organisations, the financial sector and non-financial companies
