The Banco de España, the Irving Fisher Committee on Central Bank Statistics (IFC) of the Bank for International Settlements, and the European Central Bank (ECB) are hosting the second edition of the Conference on External Statistics (External statistics after the pandemic: addressing novel analytical challenges) to be held on 12-13 February 2024 in Madrid. 

This conference brings together users and compilers of external statistics and aims at fostering regular discussions and sharing of experiences to identify the main analytical needs, prioritise data collections and address upcoming challenges in external statistics.

The conference includes an introductory speech by Pablo Hernández de Cos (Governor of the Banco de España), a keynote speech by Philip R. Lane (Member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank), round table discussions, and thematic sessions by analysts, academics and compilers.

As demand has exceeded capacity, all sessions will be livestreamed
