The Banco de España Historical Archive organises and participates in a range of exhibitions as part of the institution’s commitment to transparency and to sharing its documentary heritage.
These initiatives help bring the richness of its collections to a wider audience and highlight their historical value, embodying the recent history of both Spain and the Bank itself.
“The Banco de España Photographic Archive: from Albumen to Pixel”
This exhibition traces 150 years of institutional photography, drawing on more than 25,000 historical images that document buildings, people, work processes and technological change.

“Celebrities in the Banco de España Historical Archive”
This exhibition brings together documents and images linked to prominent figures who, for various reasons, had dealings with the Banco de España. It highlights the documentary value of the Archive’s holdings and their ability to shed light on notable episodes in modern history.
