Applying to Banco de España for electronic certificates

If, to use the desired internet service, it is necessary to apply to Banco de España for an electronic certificate, the following options are available:

OPTION 1:

  • If a certificate of legal personality is held, issued by a Certificate Service Provider recognised by Banco de España (see the list at http://pki.bde.es/psc.htmOpens in a new window) or a certificate is held that was already issued by Banco de España for other purposes (always with attention to the restrictions provided for in the accession rules document relating to the service to be accessed), the application for a new certificate can be processed using the following link:

  • When the certificate is available, an email will be received to enable its download. By using the same link as above and using the same certificate as for the first step for identification, it can be downloaded again. This operation must be carried out from the computer where the application was made.
  • More detailed Instructions are available in the Authenticated access manual (in Spanish)Opens in a new window.

OPTION 2:

  • If a certificate of legal personality or of external entity issued by Banco de España is not held, application for one must be managed using the following link:

This process generates an application form that must be signed by hand by the same person (or people) signing the service accession form and sent to Banco de España at the postal address shown in the accession document for the relevant service together with the service accession form that gave rise to the request.
  • A copy of the application number shown on the form should be saved. When the certificate application has been approved an email will be received enabling the generation and later download of the certificate.
