The European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) was established in 2010 to oversee the financial system of the European Union (EU) and prevent and mitigate systemic risk. In June 2019, the Governor of the Banco de España, Pablo Hernández de Cos, was elected Chairman of the Advisory Technical Committee (ATC) of the ESRB, a standing working structure which provides advice and assistance to the ESRB’s governing body, the General Board.
