Authenticity verification equipment

The Eurosystem has established a common testing procedure to confirm the ability of equipment to recognise genuine euro banknotes and detect counterfeit banknotes.

The purpose of this procedure is to ensure common rules to be followed by each national central bank and to establish the conditions for publication of the results.
