Second IJCB Financial Stability Conference: The Theory and Practice of Macro-Prudential Regulation
The International Journal of Central Banking (IJCB) is organising its second spring conference, entitled "The Theory and Practice of Macro-Prudential Regulation". The conference will be hosted by the Banco de España on 17-18 June 2010 in Madrid. The conference organizers are Douglas Gale, Til Schuermann, Rafael Repullo, and Frank Smets.
The conference will address the need for a macro-prudential regulatory framework to confront systemic risk. Issues of interest include the definition and measurement of systemic risk and bubbles, the design and institutional implications of macro-prudential regulation, and its relation to monetary policy. Theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented papers are welcome. Manuscripts will be considered for publication in the IJCB and therefore should not be under review at any other journal.
