Which entities may claims be lodged against?
A claim may be lodged at the Claims Service of the Banco de España against:
- Credit institutions authorised to operate in Spain, which includes banks, savings banks, the Official Credit Institute (ICO), the Spanish Confederation of Savings Banks (CECA), credit co-operatives and specialised credit institutions.
- Valuation companies. The Claims Service cannot issue rulings in accordance with Order ECO/805/2003, as this does not fall within the legal definition of the regulations on transparency, or for its purpose or the objective contents of its guidelines.
- Currency exchange establishments authorised to sell foreign banknotes and travellers' cheques or to make international transfers.
- Payment institutions.
- Financial institutions of the European Union (EU). In this case through the FIN-NET network, which the Claims Service belongs to.
