The Registries of Institutions provide the identification details of the institutions supervised by the Banco de España and foreign credit institutions authorised (since 1992) to operate in Spain without permanent establishment.

In compliance with the coming into force of Law 16/2009 of 13 November 2009 on payment services, the Registries of Institutions have incorporated identification details of the payment institutions authorised to operate in Spain. They likewise include information about the activities that these institutions are authorised to perform. The regulations specifically governing Spanish payment institutions are still being finalised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance.

The information available includes current and past data, monthly and half-yearly variations and the situation as at 31 December each year. The variations in years prior to those indicated can be found in the corresponding edition of the Boletín Económico.
