This information brochure, divided into seven sections, aims to improve the public's knowledge of the Banco de España: Spain's national central bank and banking system supervisor.

It offers a brief historical outline and explains what the bank is, what its functions are and how it is organised internally to be able to carry these out. It also analyses the role it plays abroad as a member of the Eurosystem and of various international forums. Lastly, it describes the services it provides to the general public.
